1. Thimphu

Being the capital of the country, this place is well developed and managed in communication as well as facilitated. Thimphu was taken as the capital of the country in 1961. Most of the museums, traditional Buddhist flour materials can be seen around the city. Sunday of the month is the pedestrian day so most of the people are seen on the street of the city which is quite interesting. This is the reason why the tourist explores the city on foot on Sunday. You can take a glance around the city and find many people wearing traditional as well as fashionable clothes.

2. Temple at Dochula Pass and The Druk Wangyal Chortens

Bhutan being the land of thunder dragon has a wide range of mountains and is surrounded by them. Some of the mountains are Jhichu drakay, Jumolhari, Kula Gangir and much more. Dhochula pass is one of the well-known passes old Bhutan can be reached by a short drive from Thimphu and is 30 km far from the capital.

After you reach the pass you have to walk for few minutes and take a climb of 3100 meters you will reach to a kingdom. When you reach the gate of pass you can see many prayer flags spreading message into the blowing wind. You can then visit war memorial, the Druk Wangyal Chortens which is the stupa and the main temple Druk Wangyal Temple. This place is covered with white clouds but in the clear day, you can see the spectacular view of the mighty Himalayas mountain ranges.

3. Deer Park

This park is simple, beautiful and peace place for meditation and spiritual pursuit. It is also a welcome break from the city area. You can observe many people (kids and adults) in Buddhist dress improvising and be spreading their knowledge. This park is used to spend a weekend by the internal visitors.

4. Trashi Chhoe Dzong and its gardens

Dzong especially represents a monastery, an administrative center so built like a fortress. There are many dzongs in Bhutan but among them, this Trashi Chhoe Dzong signifies peace and it has a meticulously manicured garden which is situated in the middle of bustling Thimpu. This place was originally built in the 18th century and was reconstructed in 1962 by the national government to prevent the originality and to spread the message of peace for all the visitors. This place is a Buddhist monastery and fortress situated toward the northern edge of the city of Thimpu on the western bank of the Wang chu.

5. The National Museum of Bhutan

National Museum of Bhutan is on the top of the hill above Paro Dzong which was renovated in 1968 from an old watch tower to a museum. You can take a visit to observe many historical monuments, preserved arts. There is also a natural history gallery in the museum which is quite interesting and contains religious statues and early stone carvings.
